Solid Engineering Catalogue and Website

March 27, 2024

Covering all corners with a balance of traditional print media and a modern website showcasing a detailed product catalogue.

As Solid Engineering expanded its product line servicing the mining industry with heavy industrial equipment the demand to showcase their work was ever increasing. The first challenge was to collate the large amount of products available directly from Solid Engineering and their supply partners, provide technical information for each product, present a series of case studies and job profiles for their manufacture and installations and present a company overview in an easy to navigate, modern and functional website. Once the website had been completed the next update was to transfer the information to a printed product catalogue and company overview keeping the same style used on the website.

The results speak for themselves with Brad Kebblewhite, GM of Solid Engineering saying, “Over the years, Dan has worked on everything from the smallest graphics to some of the biggest projects I’ve thrown at him, and he always delivers, no matter the scale. Most recently, Dan took on two major jobs for Solid Engineering: building our brand-new website from scratch and producing an impressive 116-page product and services catalogue. Both projects came out exactly how we envisioned – and that’s thanks to Dan’s knack for understanding the “vibe” we’re going for every time. What I really appreciate is Dan’s attention to detail and his ability to understand the brief (and sometimes even the unspoken parts of it). He doesn’t just throw together a pretty design; he listens to what we’re aiming to achieve, and he always gets it spot on. Plus, his communication and lead times are fantastic, so you never feel like you’re left in the dark.”

It was a successful outcome all round and has helped Solid Engineering gain a quick return on investment with opportunities of large projects for new clientele.

Minimalism to the Max

The minimalist design trend is nothing new, but by 2025, it will evolve to emphasize ultra-clean layouts with bold, expressive typography and a restrained color palette. This trend focuses on simplicity and functionality, reducing cognitive load and enhancing user experience.

Immersive 3D Elements

As web technologies advance, so does the ability to incorporate more dynamic and immersive elements into web design. 3D elements, when used judiciously, can provide depth and realism to a website, capturing user attention and improving engagement. Expect more websites to include 3D visuals that are seamlessly integrated into the design, providing a more interactive experience without compromising load times.

Sustainability in Web Design

Sustainability is becoming a priority in all sectors, including web design. Designers are increasingly adopting practices that reduce the environmental impact of digital products. This includes optimized images and assets that require less energy to load, sustainable hosting solutions, and designs that promote or facilitate eco-friendly behaviors among users.
